NITRO, WV (WOWK) – Two vehicles were destroyed in a fire this morning in Nitro.
According to Joe Stevens with the City of Nitro and the Nitro Fire Department, the fire happened on the Abbott’s Towing lot on First Avenue. He says the vehicles destroyed in the fire were on a hauler for transport.
Stevens says fire officials believe an electrical malfunction could have been the cause of the fire. Crews are still working to determine the amount of damage to the hauler.
According to Stevens, no injuries were reported in the fire, and traffic was partially impacted while crews from Nitro and St. Albans worked to extinguish the fire.
