Towing businesses saw a lot of action after snowfall Friday | Mid-Missouri News

COLUMBIA - Snowfall in Missouri Friday afternoon resulted in many crashes, service calls, and extra traffic.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol told KOMU 8 that Interstate 70 near Warrenton was closed due to a crash.

Tiger Towing driver Paul Arnall said a lot of drivers don't know how to accommodate to snow on the roads, which resulted in the company receiving a lot more calls.

Arnall said by the time the snowfall was over, the company had already responded to 30 calls.

"[We] probably got 25 more in waiting right now, trying to just get everybody out," Arnall said.

With the cold temperatures throughout the night, Arnall expects more drivers to need a tow into the night.

"Usually we have about three to four drivers on call, all night, so this is probably one of the nights where we're all gonna be out there again," Arnall said. "Normally we're nowhere near this busy."

Tiger Towing usually isn't as busy as it was Friday, Arnall said, unless there is four or more inches of snow forecasted.
