CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) — A pedestrian hit and killed by a tow truck in West Ashley has been identified as a Maryland woman by the coroner’s office.
Danielle Christenson, 32, was pronounced dead on the scene around 10:06 p.m. Sunday night, according to the Charleston County Coroner’s Office.
Charleston Police said the tow truck was traveling south on Savannah Highway near Carrillo Street when it struck Christenson, who was attempting to cross the roadway.

The tow truck driver remained on the scene after the collision and police have not filed any charges at this time.
This incident is the fifth fatal traffic collision investigated by Charleston Police in 2024.
