Dallas, Texas flooding: Heavy rain, high water reported in DFW

DALLAS — There were numerous reports of flash flooding and high water areas across North Texas on Thursday afternoon, as heavy rains continued falling across the area.

Dallas Fire-Rescue crews were responding to numerous high water incidents, and there were also reports of flash flooding and high water in Collin County as well.

Collin, Dallas, Tarrant, Denton and Wise counties were under a flash flood warning until at least 4:30 p.m.

While only one thunderstorm in the area was considered severe -- and moving east through Kaufman County to the east of Dallas -- the rest of the storms were dumping heavy rain across North Texas.

The rains Thursday followed what's been a series of thunderstorms and rain across the region over the last week.

Several reports of high water were being responded to in the North Dallas area, though the heavy rains were widespread across the area.

As of 1:30 p.m., several highways and ramps were closed due to high water, including: Interstate 35E and Market Center and U.S. 175 and Loop 12. Our crew from WFAA saw high water along White Rock Creek near Interstate 635.
