Grocery giant H-E-B will open its mansfield location, at 1670 Broad Street, on June 26.

The next day, the San Antonio-based grocer will break ground on its upcoming Rockwall location, which has a target opening date in 2025. The property is at the Southwest corner of Interstate 30 and South John King Boulevard, down the road from a Target, Kroger and ALDI, among other grocers.

The Mansfield location, which is expected to employ 700 people and is about 118,000 square feet, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, will be the company’s second Tarrant County store. Company representatives didn’t give the square footage or the expected employee headcount of the Rockwall location.

Two more H-E-B stores also are on the way in Tarrant County. One in Glade Park is expected to open in 2026 alongside a True Texas BBQ, gas station and car wash.

The retailer’s first North Texas Joe V’s Smart Shop, a 55,000-square-foot location which promises to be more affordable for shoppers, opens June 12 at 4101 W. Wheatland Road. Joe V’s already has a strong Texas presence in the Houston area, where H-E-B operates 10 stores.

H-E-B employs over 150,000 people across its 435 stores in Texas and Mexico. It posted revenue of $43.6 billion in 2023 — enough to elevate the company back into Forbes’ top five largest privately owned companies.
