A 3.0-magnitude earthquake rattled Mansfield, Texas, as another 3.9-magnitude quake rocked regions of southeast New Mexico and western Texas on Wednesday, putting the entire Southwest on alert.

At least 10 individuals in the Mansfield area reported the quake to the U.S. Geological Survey, which monitors seismic activity across the country. The shaking from the quake was reportedly "light," with no damage expected from the earthquake. The one in New Mexico was slightly stronger, described as "moderate" with a chance of "very light damage."

The Mansfield quake was rated a VI on the Modified Mercalli Intensity scale, while the New Mexico quake, which originated from Jal, a tiny city right in the southeast corner of the state, was rated a V. Mansfield is located just south of Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas, on the other side of the state from where the impacts of the New Mexico quake were felt.
