A tow truck driver was killed early Wednesday when he crashed into a Hueytown home.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Franklin Eugene McMillin. He was 56 and lived in Hueytown.
Police and firefighters were dispatched at 3:20 a.m. to a report of a wreck in the 200 block of Forest Road.
Police Lt. Michael Shupe said they arrived to find the tow truck had left the roadway and struck a house.
McMillin was pronounced dead on the scene.

Authorities said McMillin was returning to the company’s lot after a service call. He was hauling a pickup truck.
McMillin worked for Classic towing & Recovery.
The residents were home at the time but were not injured.
The fatality is being investigated by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office accident reconstruction team with assistance from Hueytown police.
“Our thought and prayers are with the family of the tow truck driver,’’ Shupe said.
Friend and colleague Wes Passmore described McMillin as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and hero.
“Frankie’s impact on those around him cannot be overstated,’' Passmore said in a Facebook post. “His passion for his work and unwavering commitment to help others inspired us all.”
“He will be deeply missed,’' Passmore said, “but his memory will continued to motivate us.”
