When does Major League Cricket start? Dallas to host league open

grand prairie, Texas — Downtown dallas hosted some of the best Cricket players in the country Wednesday ahead of the season's opening games July 5. 

The Texas Super Kings will face the Los Angeles Knight Riders at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Grand Prarie Stadium. In New York, the Seattle Orcas will face MI New York at 3:30 p.m. Eastern Time. The opening matches will kick off (or batt off) the league's second season. 

Cognizant Major League Cricket is the first professional Twenty20 cricket championship in the U.S., according to a press release from the league. The sport of Cricket has grown in popularity in the U.S. reflecting changing demographics and increased visibility of the sport. 

The sport made its debut in North Texas last year, hosting an "electric" crowd in a sold-out stadium.
