BEAUMONT, Texas — Vidor Police are investigating the discovery of a body in the trunk of a car that was towed on Wednesday.

A body was found in the trunk of a car by employees at the Ray's Wrecker Service tow yard at 21004 Interstate 10 on Wednesday, according to Vidor Police Chief Rod Carroll.

The car had been towed from somewhere in Orange County by the wrecker service Carroll told 12News over the phone. Carroll was unsure exactly where the car had been picked up by the wrecker service.

Vidor officers were sent to the tow yard on Interstate 10 to begin an investigation he said.

Not long after the discovery of the body several Vidor officers and the police chief were sent to the parking lot of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 890 South Main St.

No other details about the body, including if they were male or female or how old they may have been, or what kind of car was towed, have been released at this time.
