dallas, Texas — A man wanted in connection with a Dallas homicide was arrested near San Antonio after exhaustive manhunt efforts on Thursday, police announced moments ago.

On July 9, 2024, the Dallas Police Department issued a bulletin through the Dallas Fusion Center for 25-year-old Naudy D. Hernandez Perez on an active warrant for murder.

Perez was wanted in connection with the July 9, 2024, fatal shooting of a victim in the 4000 block of Silversprings Drive, Dallas, Texas. That shooting incident occurred at approxiamtely 7:09 p.m., according to the Dallas Police Department's Homicide Unit.

According to police, Perez is alleged to have shot the victim and then fled in a blue Honda sedan bearing Texas license place 58P825, which was registered to a different vehicle. The vehicle was spotted in the Devine, Texas, area of Medina County, which is located just west of San Antonio and Bexar County. Specifically, police said Perez was spotted off Interstate Highway 35 southbound near mile marker 118, or near County Road 7612, heading eastbound into the brush area.

The Medina County Sheriff's Office, in collaboration with Frio County, Hondo Police Department, Devine Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, Border Patrol, and SAPD Eagle were able to locate and apprehend Perez overnight Thursday, July 11, 2024, into the early morning hours of Friday, July 12, 2024, according to an announcement by the Medina County Sheriff's Office at approximately 12:17 a.m. Friday.

Area residents were urged to secure their homes and vehicles due to the heavy police presence in the area. Perez was considered armed and dangerous.

Perez will now face extradition to Dallas County.
