York Regional Police are seeking suspects and appealing for witnesses following a tow truck fire in Vaughan early Friday morning.
Authorities were called to a residence in the Cityview Blvd. and Canada Dr. area, near Hwy. 400 and Teston Rd., at 2:23 a.m. for a vehicle in flames.
When officers arrived at the scene, a tow truck was engulfed in flames on the driveway, police say.
Firefighters with Vaughan Fire extinguished the blaze. The truck was unoccupied and no one was injured.
There was also no structural damage to the residence.
Investigators released a short video of a grey sports utility vehicle, with no lights on, drive past the residence prior to the fire.

Shortly after, a suspect wearing dark clothes approaches the tow truck and pours what police believe to be accelerant over the windshield and sets it on fire.
The suspect breaks the front passenger window to gain entry into the truck but as the suspect opens the door, the car alarm is set off and the suspect flees toward Summit Dr.

Police believe the grey SUV is the suspect’s vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
Investigators are appealing to anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity, or anyone with a video recording that captured any suspicious activity in the area, to please come forward.
