A reinforcing shot of cooler air moved into Texas late this past weekend. This brings chilly mornings to kick off the week across North Texas. Afternoon highs will only be in the low 60s on Monday. This is close to ten degrees cooler than the normal for this time of the year. Light winds, clear skies and dry air will cool things off even more for Tuesday morning. Some areas outside of the city could be waking up to a very light frost come Tuesday. This will be the coolest part of the week.
The cooldown is short-lived. Temperatures climb every day through the rest of the week due to sunshine and southerly winds. Highs will be close to normal for late March towards the end of the year. This weekend will be mostly sunny with highs in the mid-70s.
It's like clockwork ... another chance for rain and thunderstorms Wednesday night into Thursday. While we can't rule out a strong or severe storm, the setup isn't robust like it was last Thursday. The severe risk looks low. Rain moves out by Thursday night leading to a mostly dry weekend. Showers and storms do look to return late Sunday into Monday of next week.
Temperatures for the last two weeks of March will be near normal. We will see a few rounds of rain before the month ends. We will be watching for showers and storms at the end of this weekend and again closer to Easter Sunday.
