Driver needs roadside assistance on field sobriety tests: Hunting Valley Police Blotter

HUNTING VALLEY, Ohio

Car crash, left of center, suspicion of drunk driving: South Woodland Road

Police arrested a Chesterland man, 52, after responding to a head-on collision with no injuries and non-disabling damage to both cars along the curve of Route 87 around 8:30 p.m. Jan. 27.

He reportedly crossed the center line at the intersection with Falls Road in his westbound 2012 Ford Taurus into the oncoming path of an eastbound 2011 Ford driven by a Cleveland woman, 43. Witnesses arriving on the scene said he then got out of his car and relieved himself in the street.

Police had to help him back out of his car to attempt field sobriety tests and he declined to continue a short time later, also refusing a Breathalyzer at the jail. Officers said he then appeared confused about how he’d ended up in Hunting Valley and Solon.

He was released after posting a $554 bond. Both drivers were wearing safety belts and neither car had airbags deployed upon impact.
