Grocery giant H-E-B’s expansion into North Texas continued on June 26 when the San Antonio-based company opened a store in mansfield, Texas.
H-E-B opened the new 128,000-square-foot store early Wednesday morning to a long line of eager shoppers waiting to get their first glimpse of the new location.
The new store, located at 1670 Broad Street in Mansfield, marks the second H-E-B location in Tarrant County.
“We’re excited to open our doors to this vibrant community, and our H-E-B Partners are committed to earning the confidence of our neighbors,” Shannon Crites, H-E-B Mansfield top store leader, said in a statement. “We look forward to providing customers with a dynamic shopping experience and serving Mansfield with the best of H-E-B.”
Customers can expect to find H-E-B staples at the new store, including store-made tortillas, guacamole and bolillos, as well as fresh produce, dairy and meat. The flagship store format offers a full-service pharmacy with a drive-thru, a True Texas BBQ restaurant, a Texas Backyard department with outdoor essentials, and a Home by H-E-B decor department with furniture, woven textiles and accent pieces.
The store also offers H-E-B Curbside and Home Delivery, which allow customers to place orders online for pickup at the store or delivery to home.
The H-E-B Mansfield location will be open seven days a week from 6 a.m. until 11 p.m. CT.
As the largest privately held employer in Texas, H-E-B’s Mansfield store employs about 800 Partners, which is what the company calls its employees.
Inside and out, H-E-B designed the store to reflect the character unique to the Mansfield community and emphasized environmental sustainability, incorporating several energy efficient inclusions such as CO2 refrigeration units and LED lighting, the company said. The site also features extensive native landscaping.
H-E-B is expanding its footprint in the dallas-Fort Worth metroplex with several new stores under both the H-E-B and Joe V's Smart Shop banners. They join six Central Market stores that have served the area for more than two decades.
The Mansfield H-E-B, which is located at the corner of US 287 and Broad Street, is the second store to open in Tarrant County. In April, a 125,000-square-foot store opened in the Alliance Town Center. The new store also joins the recently opened Frisco, Plano, McKinney and Allen H-E-B stores, as well as a recently opened Joe V’s Smart Shop in Dallas and six Central Market locations that have been serving the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex for more than two decades.
H-E-B has also announced additional H-E-B stores in Melissa and Prosper, which are under construction, and Rockwall, which will break ground on June 27. A second Joe V’s Smart Shop in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro is also expected to open in spring 2025.
To commemorate the opening of the Mansfield store, H-E-B made $10,000 donations each to the Mansfield Animal Shelter and the Big Hearts Day Habilitation Center.
H-E-B has over 435 stores in Texas and Mexico and employs more than 160,000 people.
