WNO 23: Nicholas Meregali vs. Vagner Rocha is set for May 10 as the No. 1 Gi and No. 4 No Gi pound-for-pound grappler in the world headlines WNO for the third time in the calendar year. WNO 23 is live at 8 p.m. EST from arlington, Texas on the campus of University of Texas at Arlington at College Park Center.
Meregali and veteran Rocha, a longtime fixture in the UFC and WNO 7 headliner, will meet in the main event on a card that features both of Rocha’s children, Achilles Rocha and Jasmine Rocha.
The card features jiu-jitsu stars such as reigning 66 KG ADCC World Champion Diogo “Baby Shark” Reis, two-time ADCC World Champion at 77 Kg JT Torres, Andrew Tackett, Nicky Ryan and more.
The card also features one of the young stars of the women’s scene in Jasmine Rocha. On the undercard will be Achilles Rocha, her younger brother.
All eyes will be on Meregali, a multi-time IBJJF World Champions 2022 IBJJF Absolute Champion.
The Brazilian star is headlining his third WNO event since May 2023. In a Gi match at WNO 18 2023, Meregali beat Pedro Marinho, the current WNO light heavyweight champion, with a mounted triangle. In August of 2023 at WNO 19, Meregali used a Katagatame to beat Kaynan Duarte, the reigning 99 KG ADCC Word Champion.
