Man was found shot to death near running tow truck.

From Tribune staff reports

BIRMINGHAM — A deadly weekend in the Magic City continues as Birmingham Police officers investigate the third homicide in the city since Friday. BPD Sgt. LaQuitta Wade said officers responded to a call at 11:10 p.m. on Saturday of a tow truck in the driveway of a vacant home.

When officers arrived at the residence in the 1700 block of Maple Avenue, they found the tow truck with the engine running and a male victim lying unresponsive on the ground near the truck. Police said the man had been shot.

Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived on the scene and pronounced the man dead.

“The details in this case are limited,” Wade said. She urged anyone with information to contact Crimestoppers at 205-254-7777.
