MANSFIELD, Texas--Dispute between woman's exes escalates into fatal shooting in north Texas | North Texas

mansfield, Texas — A domestic dispute between a woman's ex-fiancé and ex-boyfriend turned fatal on Tuesday night, April 9, 2024, when police responded to a shooting in a residential area.

Around 9 p.m., officers from the Mansfield, Texas Police Department arrived at Monticello Drive to find a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The suspect had fled the scene before their arrival. Despite officers initiating life-saving measures and the victim being rushed to a nearby hospital, he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.

The suspect, identified as Steven Foster, was later located in Midlothian, Texas. Foster has been arrested and charged with murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and tampering with evidence. "This tragic event stemmed from a domestic dispute involving a female, an ex-fiancé and an ex-boyfriend," according to the department. The swift and diligent work of the officers and detectives led to the apprehension of the suspect.
