Manuel Rodrigues Carvalho, 91 of grand prairie, Texas lived a full and exciting life. He was born July 19, 1932 in Portugal. A man born for adventure, he lived in several countries, including Brazil, Mexico, and the United States. Son of the late Jose Pina De Carvalho and Lucia Rodrigues, Manuel was a man of many stories, as he loved to entertain. Even his arrival the second time into the United States was attached to quite the story.
He came to the United States and planted roots in Connecticut in the year 1970 where his eldest son Jose was born. Following in the year 1976, his youngest of two sons Carlos was born. In that same year Manuel moved his family to Brazil where they would live for the next ten years. During this time Manuel could not come back to the United States.
Manuel was always on the go being a free spirited man. That free spirit was crucial to his ability to be a bullfighter. For only the brave, strong, and free spirited can hold such a unique talent. Whether bullfighting or singing along to his favorite artist Julio Iglesias, Manuel will always be remembered by everyone he came into contact with. His presence will be greatly missed by those who loved him.
Along with his parents Manuel was preceded in death by his sister Maria Conceicao. Survivors include his two sons, Carlos ( Jennifer) Carvalho and Jose Carvalho (Maria Salazar). He also leaves behind five grandchildren: Victor, Michael, Bailey, Ana, and Antonio Carvalho
A celebration of life for Manuel will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Grand Prairie Funeral Home, 733 Dalworth Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75050.
