Marian Sposato Obituary - Mansfield, TX

mansfield, Texas – Marian M. Sposato (nee Chum), 91, of Mansfield, Texas and formerly of Lorain, died Friday August 5, 2011 at the home of her daughter Rosalind Kopsovich in Mansfield, Texas after a short illness.

She was born August 31, 1919 in Lorain and had lived in Lorain most of her life. She had moved to Mansfield, Texas to live with her daughter 2 years ago. Marian graduated from the Lorain High School 1937B class. She attended Lorain Cosmetology School. Marian worked as a Personnel Secretary for Luxair and then worked for the Lorain City Schools as a School Monitor from 1969-1980.

She was a member of the Catholic Church of St. Peter in Lorain and the Disabled American Veterans Louis Paul Proy Chapter #1 Ladies Auxiliary in Lorain. She volunteered making pierogie at St. Nicholas Byzantine Rite Catholic Church in Lorain. Marian enjoyed meeting the retired Lorain postal workers and 24th Street gang for lunch.

She is survived by her children Rosalind (Jerry) Kopsovich of Mansfield, TX and Ross D. (Carol) Sposato II of Birmingham, Ala., grandchildren Mary Elizabeth Kopsovich of Ft. Worth, TX and Daniel S. Petticord, ESQ of Sheffield Village, great grandchildren Daniel Petticord III and Marisa Petticord and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Ross D. Sposato in 1999, parents Andrew and Elizabeth Chum (nee Koleszar), brothers Albert Chum, Lt. Col Andrew Chum and John Chum and sister Barbara DeSantis.

The family will receive friends Friday, Aug. 19th from 9:30 am until the time of the funeral mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at the Catholic Church of St. Peter, 3655 Oberlin Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Craig Hovanec, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park in Amherst Township.
