North Texas woman admits to shooting 80-year-old in Dallas, turns herself in, police say

Shortly after 5 a.m., dallas police were notified a woman had come into a grand prairie police station and “said she had shot another woman in Dallas,” according to a news release.

Officers found Betty Hearn, 80, inside a home in the area. She had been shot, police said.

Hearn was pronounced dead at the location, police added.

Dallas police said Hearn and Miles knew each other, but did not provide any further information on their relationship.

Grand Prairie police transferred Miles to the Dallas Police Department, where she was taken into custody. She was at the Dallas County jail Sunday evening. Her bail has been set at $750,000, online jail records showed.

It is unclear whether Miles has an attorney.
