Small Plane Towed From Virginia Highway After Emergency Landing Amid Icy Conditions

Road crews cleared a busy highway in northern Virginia on Friday, January 19, after a small plane was forced to make an emergency landing due to inclement weather, local media reported, citing local officials.

Footage posted by Virginia Department of Transportation shows crews towing the plane off Landoun County Parkway early Friday evening.

The Loudoun Times reported seven people were on board and all escaped uninjured.

Citing the Federal Aviation Administration, the report said the single-engine Cessna 208 Caravan made a “hard landing” on the road on Friday afternoon after taking off from Virginia’s Dulles International Airport. Credit: VDOT via Storyful
