AT SCHOOL, HE WAS A FIXTURE IN THE CLASSROOM, A THREE SPORT ATHLETE WHOSE LOVE FOR NATURE WAS ONLY OUTSHINED BY HIS PASSION FOR HIS FAMILY, FRIENDS AND MAKING PEOPLE SMILE. NOW THAT JOY LIVES ON IN ALL THE COUNTLESS PHOTOS HE’S CAPTURED. IF YOU RECALL, HUGHES WENT MISSING TEN DAYS AGO AT VERSAILLES STATE PARK. DAYS LATER, HIS BODY WAS FOUND. SINCE THE DAY HE WENT MISSING, THE COMMUNITY HAS RALLIED TOGETHER, LEANING ON EACH OTHER JUST AS HUGHES WOULD WANT THEM TO. ON FRIDAY, THE DELAWARE COMMUNITY VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT HELD A FISH FRY IN HIS HONOR, RAISING MORE THAN $24,000 FOR THE CARSON HUGHES MEMORIAL FUND. AND AS TALKING ABOUT ALL THE DIFFERENT THINGS THE COMMUNITY IS DOING. AS YOU CAN SEE HERE, ONE OF THE THREE SPORT ATHLETES I WAS WAS TALKING ABOUT, HE ALSO PLAYED BASEBALL HERE. AND CINCINNATI POLICE ARE ALSO INVESTIGATING A SHOOTING IN WEST PRICE HILL OVER THE WEEKEND. THIS HAPPENED AT SAINT LAWRENCE AVENUE AROUND FOUR IN THE ALERTED OFFICERS ABOUT THIS SHOOTING. BUT POLICE HAVE NOT GIVEN MANY DETAILS ABOUT THE INVESTIGATION. WE ARE WORKING TO LEARN IF ANYONE WAS INJURED. POLICE ARE ALSO INVESTIGATING A CAR THEFT THAT ENDED IN A FIERY CRASH IN WEST PRICE HILL. THIS HAPPENED ON WYOMING AVENUE SHORTLY AFTER 5:00 YESTERDAY MORNING. POLICE ON SCENE SAY A PASSERBY CALLED TO REPORT A VEHICLE ON FIRE. AND WE’RE TOLD THAT A STOLEN VEHICLE THEN CRASHED INTO A POLE BEFORE BURSTING INTO FLAMES. THERE WAS NO SUSPECT AT THE SCENE AND NO REPORTED INJURIES. DEVELOPING OUT OF INDIANAPOLIS TODAY, A SHOOTING OVER THE WEEKEND LEAVING ONE PERSON DEAD AND FIVE OTHERS INJURED, INCLUDING AN OFF DUTY OFFICER. POLICE SAY IT HAPPENED AROUND 130 SUNDAY MORNING, TWO OFF DUTY OFFICERS WERE WORKING A SECURITY DETAIL IN FULL UNIFORM AT A BAR WHEN THEY HEARD A DISTURBANCE IN THE PARKING LOT. INVESTIGATORS SAY THE OFFICERS AND AT LEAST ONE SUSPECT FIRED AT EACH OTHER DURING THE EXCHANGE. FIVE PEOPLE WERE SHOT, INCLUDING AN OFFICER. ARE NOW RECOVERING. WE’RE SORRY THAT SOMEONE LOST THEIR LIFE HERE TONIGHT. I’M ALSO VERY HAPPY THAT OUR OFFICER DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY SIGNIFICANT INJURIES. ALTHOUGH WE KNOW THAT THERE’S A THAT THERE’S A LONG ROAD AHEAD FOR HIM AS HE DEALS WITH THE EMOTIONAL IMPACT OF OF THIS SITUATION. THE MARION COUNTY PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE IS INVESTIGATING THE INCIDENT, AND THE TWO OFFICERS INVOLVED HAVE BEEN PLACED ON ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE. NEXT AT NOON, THE LATEST ON THE TERROR ATTACKS INSIDE RUSSIA. THE SUSPECT OF THE SUSPECTS BEING MARCHED INTO COURT AND THE POSSIBLE PUNISHMENTS. AND WHERE THOSE MEN CAME FROM. According to the ODOT Twitter page, a truck carrying a backhoe hit the State Route 32 bridge over West Main Street in Batavia. No injuries have been reported at this time.Police and fire responders have been dispatched to the scene.While S.R. 32 remains open, West Main St. is currently closed.
