Two people dead, 3 injured after bulldozer falls off tow truck flatbed, hits SUV in Ogden Canyon

OGDEN CANYON, Utah, July 6, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) — Two people are dead and three injured after a bulldozer fell from the back of an eastbound flatbed tow truck and collided with a westbound SUV.

The incident happened near milepost 10 at about 12:45 p.m. Saturday, Trooper Heywood, Utah Highway Patrol, told Gephardt Daily.

“As the truck was rounding a curve, the bulldozer got dislodged from the tow truck.

“The equipment then went into the westbound vehicle, killing two of the occupants and sending three to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.”

The roadway will remain closed until at least 4 or 4:30 p.m., Heywood said.
