dallas, Texas — A 30-year-old woman confessed to a murder at the grand prairie Police Department on March 17, 2024, leading to her subsequent arrest.
The Dallas 9-1-1 received a call from the Grand Prairie Police Department around 5:10 a.m., informing them that a woman, identified as Kelsie Miles, of Dallas, Texas, had walked into their station confessing to have shot another woman in Dallas. Miles provided officers with an address in the 4700 block of Colwick Avenue, prompting immediate action.
Upon arrival at the specified location, officers received no response from inside the residence. Suspecting immediate medical assistance might be required, they forced entry into the home. Inside, they discovered 80-year-old Betty Hearn, of Dallas, Texas, shot and lying on the floor. Despite the prompt response of Dallas Fire Rescue, Hearn was pronounced dead at the scene.
Miles was transported to the Dallas Police Headquarters by the Grand Prairie Police and was subsequently charged with one count of murder. She has been taken to the Dallas County Jail. The case is documented under the case number 043254-2024.
